INTERNET - A Control Freak’s Guide to Social Media Influence

I came across this today and it talks about the notion of control when it comes to online branding and the stance of influence. It offers a nice view of what control is online and how to ease your company into social media. It also shows good reason to get your brand out there if it isn't already.
Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

ONLINE: Engaging Your Candidates with Blogs

http://www.ere.net/2009/02/12/engaging-your-candidates-with-blogs/
Came across this article about the benefits and what to expect when you start up a recruitment blog and it made some great points.

I think the strongest benefit of a corporate recruiting blog is the development of an open discussion and connection with your potential candidates. They are able to experience a different view point that might make them feel like they are already in the door and make them more comfortable when it comes time for the interview. Open blogs help tear down the initial hesitation you might find in applicants for certain fields as well. You can use them to dispel uncertainties and rumors about application processes while helping candidates realize that their potential careers are within reach.

INTERNET - Be Careful What You Post

This is a nice example of being mindful of what you post online or write anywhere for that matter. In this day in age, information travels fast and anyone can see it. Recognizing this and remaining conscious of it are very important both to employers, candidates, employees and anyone in between. You never know who is watching/reading/following/stalking your posts/tweets/blogs/pods.

INTERNET - Blog Post: 10 Tips for Improving your Recruitment Blog

Here is a great article about improving your recruitment blog or at least tips to keep in mind when starting to develop your own.
Some of the key points he mentions include honesty about the job positions and work environment, keeping the entries as informal conversations between you and your candidates, responding to those that comment and staying consistent with your postings while keeping them relative to the time they are posted.

The post also makes an important point about revealing a little of yourself on the blog to help make a much more human connection between yourself and the potential talent reading through your blog.
